Sweet Ecstasy Cubao Expo (10/13/2012)

Thank you Chesca! :)

thatinsatiablehunger:

I was really excited to go to Cubao Expo after my quick stint at the Gourmet Market for Sweet Ecstasy. Not a relatively new concept but still refreshing amidst all the cupcake shops popping out around the metro. Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against cupcakes but sometimes you just want something different. So what exactly does Sweet Ecstasy offer? 2 words my lovely readers. MILK and COOKIES. If given a choice between cupcakes and cookies, I’ll choose cookies every single time. I’m a self professed cookie monster and Sweet Ecstasy is my Cookie Heaven.

Sweet Ecstasy @ Cubao Expo

A simple yet truly inviting chill-out place that offers superb tasting milk and deliciously GREAT (yes, it needs to be capitalized for its goodness) melt-in-your-mouth cookies. Their cafe’s walls are painted white and sprinkled with cutie-patootie doodles on the side. The place also exhibits awesome artworks. My eyes loved them!

I tried out their fresh milk + Blueberry Cheesecake Cookie Pie while Bestbud went for Choco Milk ‘cause he’s not much of a cookie lover. Our orders were served in less than 5 minutes or so. I let him take a bite of my ordered cookie and damn, he turned into an instant fan! That’s how awesome it is; Fast service + Yummy food + Cozy place, what more can you ask for? :D

Like them on Facebook & Follow them on Twitter for more info :)

Anderson Cooper Is Still Gay of the Day: But on his revamped talk show on Monday, the ever-bubbly Kristin Chenoweth had the CNN anchor blushing as he revealed what made him decide to come out publicly. Too cute.

It’s the little things.

I’m sitting in the cafe, feeling all sorts of sadness, then like clockwork, to most likely take my mind off things, or maybe put a stupid smile on my face, God gifts me with a blabbering drunken marketing man who walks in and tries to sell me ad space in this random magazine.

While he tries to explain himself in the best way his drunken ass can, I’m sitting there smiling blankly at him thinking, “Wow! Thanks God. I appreciate the momentary distraction. How entertaining. :)”

It took all of 10 slightly awkward minutes to get his sales pitch out, and for me to feel a little better.

So.. till the next blabbering idiot that comes my way. Cheers.

Feelings come and feelings go. There is no need to fear them and no need to crave them. Let them come, and then let them go. No feeling is your permanent reality, no matter how intense it is.

OPM

By now, I’ve read the various articles on “OPM being dead”. Different points of view and comments from all sides. Had time to think about it, and figured I’d put my two cents in.

My take? Having been with radio for the past 16 years, OPM is struggling, but how can it be labeled dead when Original Pilipino Music is still being made? When we have musicians coming out of the woodwork even without the promise of money? Music is made, simply because inspiration is there. Our musicians continue because it’s their passion. Music comes out their pores. The downside, sometimes, it doesn’t equate to riches. The upside, the music will touch somebody out there. That for me equates to a pulse that’s still going strong, not a flatline.

I’ve had the honor and pleasure to be witness first hand to incredible talent, coming from both established and new artists in the industry. Some have to release covers just to make everybody happy or maybe get their foot in the door, but that doesn’t mean there’s less integrity. Sure people are always quick to judge. Myself included. “Eww.. another cover.” But everybody needs to make money. How do you survive? How do you continue to make music if you can’t feed yourself? So you reconcile with that part of yourself and come to a compromise. That’s the real world. There are a million and one things to be said on this topic. Everybody will have their own valid point.

But in my humble opinion, OPM is having a hard time but it perseveres, it always will. Life and everything in it is like a rollercoaster, there are the highs and the lows and the in between. Everything is always in flux. Things will get better. OPM music continues because we have crazy-talented people who won’t let it die.

You can seek the advice of others, surround yourself with trusted advicers, but in the end, the decision is always yours and yours alone. And when it’s time to act and you are all alone with your back against the wall… The only voice that matters is the one in your head, the one telling you what you already probably knew. The one that’s almost always right.
